Mallory and Boone are one of the sweetest couples I have ever met. It is hard to deny the love they have for each other. I have had the privilege of knowing these two for about two years now. They are a beautiful couple and are so supportive of each other in all of their adventures.
I hate the dressing room... its evil. I have had body image issues for as long as I can remember. I've heard it all; I need to love myself, embrace my curves (I know you are probably thinking 'what curves', just because you can not see them does not mean they are not there), just love the body I have. However, its easier said than done. I struggle not picking myself apart every day. I have made major progress but have miles to go.
In a society full of technology and fast paced mentalities though, we do not stop to fully enjoy and appreciate the beauty out there. I started this project as a way to explore and study the beautiful shapes and forms of nature. Sure a leaf is a leaf, but have you ever stopped to realize how many different shapes and sizes leaves come in? A lot! And they are beautiful!
I have grown up around old cars my entire life. As a kid I hated going to old car shows, I found them very boring. However, I slowly started to like learning about the cars and even started to pick out my favorites. I was partial to the old trucks, for some reason those are my favorite. Today, my parents are apart of an old car club and still go to car shows.
If you know me, you know I LOVE animals (except spiders, they do not count, they never count). These birds often annoy people and get overlooked. I happen to love them and love watching them. There is one in particular that has only 1 foot. He is very strong willed and does not let his disability affect him. I ALWAYS look for him when I am at the wharf! They all have their own personalities, which is noticeable when you observe them like I do. They are very photogenic and super fun!
Two of my favorite things in one place....Artists and Photography!
In my first digital photography class during college, I was allowed to select what I wanted to shoot for our final project. I knew right away I wanted to photograph artists. There were many reasons I selected this as my project. I wanted the challenge of meeting new people (if you know me, you know I am quiet/shy). I wanted to explore all types of art. I also wanted to test my ability to photograph people in different lighting scenarios and locations.
My favorite part of California, besides of course the beautiful scenery, is the sea lion population. I love animals. When I first got to see the seal lions they were rafting, all sleeping in the water floating next to each other, often nestled together, and I fell in love. I did not want to leave the wharf.
