The Beautiful California Landscapes

Welcome to Photo Friday!

Who doesn't love a beautiful California landscape?! Kevin and I took a trip to California to visit his brother, Chris, in Los Angeles in 2012. We fell in LOVE with California. It was beautiful, warm and so different from Ohio. It felt like a place of opportunity. Little did we know, two years later, we would get to live in this beautiful state.

When the decision was made to move to California, we promised each other to explore and enjoy our new surroundings. One of our favorite places to explore is Big Sur. Big Sur is a coastal region of Northern/Central California that starts 20-25 minutes south of Monterey and is roughly 90 miles long.

It is BEAUTIFUL. Words cannot express the beauty of Big Sur, from it's large land formations that peek out of the ocean, the Bixby Bridge, to the gorgeous McWay Falls.

There are spots to stop along the entire shore. It is almost impossible to pick a bad spot to stop. The entire drive is gorgeous and will take your breathe away. It is a location I would insist a visit to anyone vacationing or living in California. Its beauty is what also made it such a great place to photograph! I'm going to stop typing now and just let you enjoy the photos :)

I am Ashly. I recently moved from Ohio to Northern California with my husband Kevin. I graduated from The Ohio State University in December of 2013 with my B.A. in Arts. I am a photographer and involve myself in various crafts. A certain level of madness sets in if I do not have a project in the works or ideas in mind. I love walking into craft or home improvement stores and getting inspired with all the possibilities. My passion of photography started in high school when I took a film class. I enjoyed the class but never considered photography could be any more than a hobby. I quickly realized how that was not true. My husband (then boyfriend) started getting into Photography which lead to a degree and career. I was often his model in his photography classes and quickly realized how intriguing this art was. I took photography classes during the course of getting my art degree and fell in love again.
